Ellen Page described the encounter as described the encounter as 'probably one of the more scary, nerve-wracking moments I’ve had.'

Ellen Page confront a policeman in Brazil who boasts about to killing gay men in her new Vice travel series Gaycation.

In a promo for the Vice’s new TV channel Viceland, Page can be seen interviewing the cop with her best friend and co-host Daniel.

‘For me, they are worse than animals,’ the policeman says. ‘I think every pigsty must be cleaned up. If they cross my path, I’ll take of them.’

Page then asks: ‘We’re gay. And I’m wondering if you think it’s better for the world for us to be dead?’

At a Viceland panel at the 2016 Television Critics’ Association’s winter press tour, the openly gay actress described the encounter as ‘probably one of the more scary, nerve-wracking moments I’ve had’

Daniel added: ‘A person who is standing in front of you is saying I’ve killed people like you, I’m going to do it again, and there are other people like me who are killing people like you… It’s scary in that it’s just hard to hear.’

In different episode of Gaycation, Page confronts anti-gay Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz at Iowa State Fair.

‘You’re discriminating against LGBT people. Well, would you use that argument in segregation?’ she asks him.

Gaycation airs on Viceland in February.
