The father of a gay woman who committed suicide has a very special message for anti-gay Republican Roy Moore.
Nathan Mathis appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show after a video of him at a Roy Moore protest went viral.
He held up a sign at the protest saying: ‘Judge Roy Moore called my daughter Patti Sue Mathis a pervert because she was gay. A 32-year-old Roy Moore dated teenage girls ages 14 to 17. So that makes him a pervert of the worst kind. Please don’t vote for Roy Moore!’
So Ellen Degeneres wanted to invite him onto her show to discuss Moore’s latest Senate defeat.
Mathis says: ‘It’s an honor to be here,’ he starts. ‘I watch your show all the time!
‘I’ve got a bag of Alabama peanuts for you and my homeboy Twitch over here,’ he jokes.
He continues: ‘Well I protested in honor of my daughter Patti Sue Mathis who was gay but committed suicide. And I just said I wonder how Patti would feel today.
‘Here’s a man running for [the] United States Senate who said that gay people are perverts,’ he said.
Mathis also explained the process of getting the sign made for the protest. He contacted a local sign maker to do it for him but they refused on the basis of his own son being gay.
And Mathis had the best response.

Roy Moore took one final jab at the LGBTI community after his Senate defeat on Tuesday (12 December).
In a bitter concession video, he said: ‘Today, we no longer recognize the universal truth that God is the author of our life and liberty.
‘Abortion, sodomy, and materialism have taken the place of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,’ he claims.
‘We have stopped prayer in schools, we’ve murdered over 60,000,000 of our unborn children. We’ve redefined marriage and destroyed the basis of family, which is the building block of our country.
‘We’ve even begun to recognize the right of a man to claim to be a woman, and vise-versa,’ he says.
