Kesha is finally playing new music again, much to the delight of her fans! Being able to perform again clearly means a lot to Kesha as well.
For the last couple years, singer-songwriter Kesha has been is a very public legal battle with her producer, Dr. Luke, over his alleged sexual misconduct with the pop star.
Kesha wanted out of her contract with Sony Music and Dr. Luke, and to release new music without Dr. Luke’s influence. Though she wasn’t able to get out of the contract, she was able to write a new album and reinvent herself as a performer. For instance, the iconic $ in place of the ‘s’ in her name was dropped.
On 20 July, Kesha performed her new music for the first time in Iowa. Before debuting her song ‘Woman,’ a female-empowerment anthem, the singer began to cry.
‘I just wanna say thank you, guys,’ she said before wiping back tears. Her fans cheered her on, chanting her name even louder upon realizing she was in tears.
