Professional basketball players Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson were married late last week.
According to People, the WNBA stars exchanged vows on Friday, 8 May, on a Phoenix mountaintop.
The two athletes were engaged last August.
Griner plays for the Phoenix Mercury, who won their third WNBA championship last year. Johnson’s team is the Tulsa Shock.
There were about 75 guests attending the wedding ceremony.
The women were held on counts of assault by recklessly causing physical injuries and disorderly conduct for fighting.
According to People, Griner took a plea deal. She will enter domestic violence counseling, and the charges will be dismissed.
‘It is never OK for an argument to turn physical,’ Griner said in a statement released through her attorney, reported by People. ‘This will never happen again, and I take my relationship and my responsibility as a role model seriously.’
