This is Young Thug, and this is what he normally looks like.
The 25-year-old rapper from Atlanta is blowing up the hip hop scene. Best known for tracks like Stoner, he recently released a new mixtape – No, My Name is Jeffrey – in the lead up to his long-awaited album Hy!#UN35.
And in his artwork for the mixtape, like samurai meets Beyoncé, he wears a stunning dress:
Predictably, the internet went wild.
It’s become a meme…

And some of the biggest names in rap have reacted to the artwork.
Desiigner called it incredibly ‘artistic’ and like a ‘beautiful big bird’, while A$AP Ferg said it represented the rapper. ‘It’s turned up stuff, that’s him. It’s Young Thug,’ he said.
Fat Joe, however, said: ‘I would never wear a dress. I don’t know about this guy…’
Many have reacted to the dress, targeting the rapper with homophobic remarks.

However, it’s not like Young Thug himself hasn’t used homophobic comments of his own in the past.
‘Green and red motherfuckin’ flag,’ he rapped in one song, called Serious, released earlier this year. ‘I dress like a prince, not a fag / No, I’m not gay.’
As one Twitter user said:
young thug: “i dress like a prince, not a fag. no, i’m not gay.”
also thug: *wears a dress*
