Lesbian YouTube star claims she’s a victim of revenge porn

YouTube sensation Chrissy Chambers is bringing a revenge porn suit against a former boyfriend she dated when she was 18.

Chambers is half of the lesbian singing duo BriaAndChrissy. Her girlfriend is Bria Kam.

According to her Generosity funding page, in 2009 Chambers’ ex-boyfriend  allegedly ‘filmed himself sexually assaulting me while I was unconscious and then posted the videos to the internet.’

The 25-year-old maintains she did not find out about the videos until 2013. They were uploaded in Great Britain and the singer is identified by name.

‘These videos by now have racked up tens of thousands of views and have been shared to more than 35 pornography sites,’ the Generosity page explains.

The Internet star, who resides in Los Angeles, is suing the former boyfriend (he lives in Great Britain). Revenge porn laws were passed in the United Kingdom in 2015, so these rules don’t apply to Chambers’ case. However, she is seeking ‘to get copyright ownership of the videos.’

Chambers is asking for donations to pay for legal fees and the goal of $30,000 (€27,000) has been reached.

‘Without this campaign, we cannot afford to keep fighting,’ the couple explain.

Ann Olivarius, senior partner at London-based McAllister Olivarius, told the Daily Mail a victory for the plaintiff could aid other revenge porn victims.

‘A win here would be a win for all victims of revenge pornography who, depending on their particular circumstances, might also be able to use the civil law as Chrissy is doing to sue perpetrators for the harm they have caused.’

Below is a video the couple posted on Generosity.
