Co-founded by Scott Nunn and Tris Reid-Smith, Gay Star News was launched in January 2012.

Our ambition has always been to serve the global LGBTI community – with a respected team of journalists around the world, showcasing the news, insights, and people that matter.

Jamie is the Creative Partnership Director at Gay Star News. Prior to this he spent many years at various advertising agencies where he discovered his passion for media and marketing. In his spare time Jamie is interested in art, photography and travel.

Chrys Salter

Chrys joined Gay Star News in October 2017, after graduating with a first in Journalism from the University of Westminster, having held positions at ITN and the BBC. Working alongside the Creative Partnership team, Chrys is responsible for maintaining existing client relations, approaching potential new clients, Digital Advertising and Public Relations.

Alex Protopapa

Creative Partnerships & Communications

Alex is responsible for maintaining existing client relations, approaching potential new clients, Digital Advertising and Public Relations. Alex started as an intern in March 2017 and, at the end of his internship, he was hired for a full-time position. He graduated from the University of Westminster in 2017 with a BA Hons. in PR and Advertising.

Video Editor

As video editor for Gay Star News, Lewis helps to bring LGBTI stories to life. Lewis also regularly appears in front of the camera, reacting from everything to Drag Race, Game of Thrones, and Lady Gaga.

Rafaella is a graduate of The New School in NYC, where she majored in journalism and minored in gender studies. She's passionate about feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, and other areas of social justice.

Anya Crittenton


Anya is a writer with a passion for diverse narratives. Her feminist icons are Leslie Knope and Lauren Bacall. When she's not working on her Master's, she can usually be found watching movies with her dog, reading Neil Gaiman, or at Disneyland.

Shannon joined Gay Star News in 2017. Based in Melbourne, Shannon leads on Asia/Pacific coverage for GSN. Shannon also hosts a news and discussion program on Joy Radio.

Addison White

Event Management

Addison is the Event Manager for Gay Star News and is in charge of the organisation of the company’s annual Digital Pride online event. Addison is also the Managing Director of This Electric, a house music radio station, presents a weekly show on that station and enjoys DJing and music production in his spare time.
